Book Review: Fearless by Max Lucado + GIVEAWAY

Spent the better part of my day finishing up Max Lucado's newest book, Fearless. Wow, what encouragement! Lucado's book is timely considering fear in our day is magnified in the media, and in turn, multiplying fast in our hearts. Lucado presents readers with this question, "Can you imagine your life without fear?"

Yes or no?

Sounds too good to be true?

Not so fast.

Lucado examines thirteen of our most common fears, like fear of disappointing God, fear of worst case scenarios, and fear of death. His creative writing style drew me in. He used personal examples, stories of modern day heroes, and strong scenes from the Word to share it's possible live without controlling fear. He offers faith alternatives.

My reaction: I loved Fearless. Max knows how to serve up an imagery feast to a hungry soul. I could see, taste, and almost touch the scenes he described. I feel like I've dined at a 10 course meal today. (Why 10 course? Because I read 10 chapters today) Each chapter started with story and ended with a satisfying truth that I could chew on, swallow, and then digest.

I found myself examining my faith as I read. Do I give my kids over to God in prayer each day, believing they are His? Do I believe physical death is actually a new beginning?

I recommend this book to anyone who needs a fresh reminder of what to do with fear.

Fearless satisfied my God-sized hunger today. God is big enough. He is always present. His plan is good even if I suffer. He is not finished with this world yet. There will come a day when all fear will cease.

I can't wait.

One day God's children will be fearless, forever in the arms of Jesus.

Tiffany,

Isn't his book amazing! I too would love it if you would pass on my name and give it to someone else. What a great day to give away a FEARLESS book on September 11th. Let us again not fear a day like that could ever happen again.

Sounds like a wonderful book. Several years ago I realized fear and intimidation keep me from doing what God wants me to do. I've worked through a lot of it, but fear keeps raising its head. That's why I wear a ring that has "Fear Not" engraved on it.

This is the third time in as many days as this book has popped into my world, and considering my day tomorrow, I'm thinking it may be for a reason.

Thanks for the give-a-way.

We are fully and amazingly safe. But I'm watching the news right now, as I write, fearing what I hear, and wondering why I won't shut it off!

WOW! Tiffany...great REVIEW!

Obviously we both like Max Lucado's style of writing practically & then with sound biblical connection. So many have read this & written or given reviews but I enjoyed your 10 course description. Sorry, that I did not list you with the many that I had on my "FEAR NOT" WFW!

I did not read the book, only the pdf of Chapter 1 and then the preview or reviews by others. I'm sure I can't get it here in Mexico, so I enjoy vicariously through others. Maybe it will be in Spanish but somehow I miss the beauty of his words & the way he tells it in English. I so appreciate a good book! And this sounds like another one of his greats. I brought his book "In The Grip of Grace" with me(MX) from my library at home(MN)
just so I could enjoy it all over again & perhaps glean more from his wisdom on Romans! ahhhhhhhh, a good Lucado book & a cup of tea with Tiffany! What could be better! Thanks!

(I don't Twitter or Facebook, it's a miracle , I know anything or even blog)! Are you still singing & praisin' the LORD! I am even while watching the news!
